Grand Lange 1 Luna Mundi

This is a worthwhile limited edition called Grand Lange 1 Luna Mundi where it comes in a set of two hand-finished watches. Both watches possess the moonphase that depicts correctly the moon’s movement around the earth at each hemisphere.

One of the watches is known as the Ursa Major. It uses 18K white gold for its case that is about 41.9mm in diameter and a thickness of 11.3mm. The sapphire crystal is curved and treated with anti-reflectives.

The caseback is transparent with sapphire crystal that reveals the movement. There is a date-corrector pusher located at 10 and a crown at 3 where both are made of white gold.

On the Ursa Major is a depiction of the prominent constellation Big Dipper inside its off-centered hour and minute dial at 9. This constellation is represented with rhodium-plated gold cabochon.
Within the hour and minute counter are printed minute markers and Roman numerals for 3, 6, 9, and 12. All are made of rhodium-plated gold including the two hands within.

It still has A. Lange & Sohne’s patented outsized date with rhodium-plated bordered double windows. The two numbers in each window are run individually on a two-disc mechanism. The power reserve counter is still located at 3 and the small seconds with Northern Hemisphere moonphase is positioned at 4 and 5.

Similarly for the other watch, it is made of pink gold. The counters within the dial are all similar as Ursa Major and fine detailing use all pink gold instead of rhodium-plated gold. The main differences are the hour and minute counter contains a representation of the Southern Cross instead of Ursa Major and the moonphase depicts the Southern Hemisphere.
The straps used are crocodile leather that are hand-stitched for high quality finishing. The buckle are made of the similar metal as the case. This beautiful Grand Lange 1 Luna Mundi limited edition is produced at only 101 sets.
